SCOPE OF THIS CHAPTER
Whistleblowing is when someone who is working in or for an Organisation has concerns about the practice(s) or policies of the organisation and passes the concern on to a senior manager, a regulatory body or relevant government department. It would always be hoped that concerns can be raised with a line manager. However, sometimes people can have concern for themselves if this is done, or there is a lack of confidence that the issues will be taken seriously and acted upon. Whistleblowers have legal protection for their actions. This chapter contains links to both The Wirral 'Whistleblowing Policy' and also to Ofsted's guide.
