Whistleblowing is when someone who is working in or for an Organisation has concerns about the practice(s) or policies of the organisation and passes the concern on to a senior manager, a regulatory body or relevant government department. It would always be hoped that concerns can be raised with a line manager. However, sometimes people can have concern for themselves if this is done, or there is a lack of confidence that the issues will be taken seriously and acted upon. Whistleblowers have legal protection for their actions.
